Prawns in Coconut Milk Curry
A simple and mildly spiced prawns curry is a great combo for your meal. Try it with any of other seafood varieties also.
Ingredients:
- Prawns cleaned-250 gm
- Coconut oil-1 tbsp
- Cumin seeds- 1/2 tsp
- Onion-1 sliced
- Tomato-1 large sliced
- Ginger crushed-1 1/4 tsp
- Garlic crushed-3/4 tsp
- Green chilly slit- nos
- Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
- Chilly powder-1 tsp
- Coriander powder-1 1/2 TSP
- Pepper powder- 3/4 tsp
- Salt-to taste
- Curry leaves-2 springs
- Thick Coconut milk-2 cups
- Heat oil in a pan ; splutter cumin seeds.
- Add onion sliced and saute until transparent.
- Add ginger, garlic and green chilly. Saute for a minute.
- Add sliced tomato and saute until mashed well.
- Add all the powders one by one after mixing well in each addition.
- Add coconut milk and mix well.
- Cook for about 10-15 minutes; stir well occasionally to prevent the separation of coconut milk.
- Add prawns and cook for another 7-8 minutes or until the fish pieces are cooked well.
- Check for salt.
- Switch off the flame and add curry leaves.
- Allow the curry to sit for 15 minutes and serve.
