Prawns in Coconut Milk Curry


A simple and mildly spiced prawns curry is a great combo for your meal. Try it with any of other seafood varieties also. 


Ingredients:
  1. Prawns cleaned-250 gm
  2. Coconut oil-1 tbsp
  3. Cumin seeds- 1/2 tsp
  4. Onion-1 sliced
  5. Tomato-1 large sliced
  6. Ginger crushed-1 1/4 tsp
  7. Garlic crushed-3/4 tsp
  8. Green chilly slit- nos
  9. Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
  10. Chilly powder-1 tsp
  11. Coriander powder-1 1/2 TSP
  12. Pepper powder- 3/4 tsp
  13. Salt-to taste
  14. Curry leaves-2 springs
  15. Thick Coconut milk-2 cups
Preparation:
  • Heat oil in a pan ; splutter cumin seeds.
  • Add onion sliced and saute until transparent.
  • Add ginger, garlic and green chilly. Saute for a minute.
  • Add sliced tomato and saute until mashed well.
  • Add all the powders one by one after mixing well in each addition.
  • Add coconut milk and mix well.
  • Cook for about 10-15 minutes; stir well occasionally to prevent the separation of coconut milk.
  • Add prawns and cook for another 7-8 minutes or until the fish pieces are cooked well.
  • Check for salt.
  • Switch off the flame and add curry leaves.
  • Allow the curry to sit for 15 minutes and serve.
