Meat Balls
A meat ball is a delicious combo of ground meat with some herbs, spices and bread crumbs. It is fried, baked or even steamed. There after dip them in a lovely sauce and you can serve them in bed with steamed rice; pasta or spaghetti. Here is a basic meatball recipe with simple ingredients.
Ingredients For The Meat Ball:
- Ground meat-2 cup (lamb/Chicken/beef) or use keema
- Lemon juice-1 tbsp
- Pepper powder-1 tsp
- Salt-to taste
- Thinly chopped Coriander leaves-2 tbsp
- Egg-1
- Mixed Herbs-1 tsp
- Garlic powder-1/2 tsp
- All purpose flour-2 tbsp
- Bread Crumbs-1/4 cup
- Oil-for frying
Ingredients For The Sauce:
- Oil-1 tbsp
- Thinly chopped ginger-1 tbsp
- Thinly chopped garlic-1 tbsp
- Thinly chopped onion-1 small
- Thinly chopped coriander leaves-2 tbsp
- Kashmiri chilly powder-1 tsp
- Soy sauce-1 tbsp
- Chilly sauce-1 tsp
- Tomato sauce-3 tbsp
- Water- 1/2 cup
- Cornflour-1 tbsp
- Salt-to taste
Preparation:
- Mix ingredients for the meatball (except oil) in a bowl.
- Mix them well and rest for 15 minutes.
- Make small balls out of it.
- Deep fry them in hot oil over medium flame until nicely browned.
- Drain in to paper towels and keep aside.
- Heat a tbsp of oil in a pan; add thinly chopped ginger, garlic and onion; saute for three minutes.
- Add kashmiri chilly powder and mix well.
- Add all the sauces and mix well.
- Add salt and 1/2 cup of water; allow to boil.
- When it boils; add cornflour by diluting with little water.
- Cook for another two minutes until the sauce starts thickening.
- Add fried meat balls and coriander leaves; mix well and switch off the flame.
- Serve them in side with rice or pasta.
Note:
You can make ground meat by blending boneless meat without adding any water.
Instead of garlic powder; you can also use thinly minced fresh garlic
