Drumstick Leaves Curry

Drumstick leaves (murigha leaves) are highly nutritious and powerful medicinal benefits. So must try to include them in your diet whenever you have it. You can replace the murigha leaves with chopped spinach or palak if it is not available. Try this quick and delicious curry in side with your steamed rice or hot paratha.
  1. Murigha leaves-2 cup
  2. Dal-1/4 cup
  3. Green chilly slit-3 
  4. Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
  5. Chilly powder-1 tsp
  6. Salt-to taste
  7. Grated coconut- 1/2 cup
  8. Cumin seeds- 1/2 tsp
  9. Shallots-2
Ingredients For Seasoning:
  1. Coconut oil-1 tbsp
  2. Mustard seeds-1 tsp
  3. Dry red chilly-2 nos
  4. Curry leaves-1 spring
  5. Hing-a pinch (optional)
  • Grind grated coconut with cumin seeds, shallots and little water to a smooth paste.
  • Pressure cook washed dal by adding 1 cup of water, turmeric powder, chilly powder, green cilly slit and salt for 1-2 whistles.
  • Allow to release the pressure by itself and open the lid.
  • Add the murigha leaves and cook for about 2 minutes until soften.
  • Then add coconut paste and enough salt (add more water if needed)..
  • Cook on low flame until the curry starts thickening.
  • When the curry starts boiling; switch off the flame and do seasoning on top.
  • Heat a pan with coconut oil; splutter mustard seeds.
  • Add red chilly, curry laves and hing powder.
  • Pour it over the curry and mix well before serving!!!
