Vegetable Stuffed Bread Fry

Snacks with bread slices are always easy to make and delicious too. Here is a quick and easy vegetable stuffed bread fry preparation. You can make any filling inside according to your choice.

  1. Bread- 8 slices
  2. Potato-1 large
  3. Carrot-1 large
  4. Green peas- 1/2 cup
  5. Oil-2 tbsp
  6. Cumin seeds- 1/2 tsp
  7. Green chilly chopped-1 tbsp
  8. Thinly chopped ginger-1 tbsp
  9. Chilly powder- 1/2 tsp
  10. Coriander powder- 1/2 tsp
  11. Amchoor powder- 1/2 tsp (or lemon juice)
  12. Garam masala powder- 1/2 tsp
  13. Salt-to taste
  14. Coriander leaves chopped-1 tbsp
  15. Oil-for deep frying

  • Firstly Prepare the filling.
  • Boil chopped potato, carrot  and green peas by adding little salt and water.(or pressure cook for one whistle).
  • (if the green pea is not fresh, soak it in water for 5 hours and then boil).
  • After cools down drain the water in it.
  • Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a pan, splutter cumin seeds.
  • Add green chilly and ginger chopped; saute for a minute.
  • Add all the powders in low flame followed by cooked green peas, carrot and chopped potato pieces.
  • Mix well for a minute.
  • Add coriander leaves chopped and switch off the flame.
  • Trim the edges of bread slices.
  • Take  a slice of bread quickly dip it in the cold water (just for a second) and gently  press well with between your thumbs to squeeze all the water content in it.
  • Roll this slice carefully to flatten by using a rolling pin.
  • Now place a tablespoon of veggie filling in the center and cover the bread  to seal all the sides and make an oval shape by sticking gently with hands (as the bread slices are wet; they will stick easily)
  • Prepare all the bread slices in this way and deep fry them in hot oil on medium flame until nice golden brown.
  • Drain in to paper towels and serve hot with a cup of tea.
