Coconut Poha

Coconut poha is a typical North Indian poha recipe using rice fakes and coconut as main ingredients. Try this quick and easy savory poha recipe at home and have it with tea.

  1. Poha / rice flakes white- 1 1/2 cup
  2. Oil-1 tbsp
  3. Mustard seeds- 1/2 tsp
  4. Cumin seeds- 1/4 tsp
  5. Roasted chana dal-1 tbsp
  6. Roasted peanuts-1 tbsp
  7. Curry leaves-1 spring
  8. Thinly chopped ginger-1 tsp
  9. Chopped carrots- 1/4 cup
  10. Grated coconut- 1/2 cup
  11. Salt-to taste
  12. Coriander leaves-to garnish
  • Wash poha for few seconds under running water.
  • Drain it and keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan; splutter mustard seeds and cumin seeds.
  • Add roasted chana dal and peanuts.
  • Add curry leaves, ginger and chopped carrot; saute for a minute.
  • Add grated coconut and saute until dry. (about 5 minutes on low flame).
  • Add washed poha and salt; mix well for two minutes and switch off the flame.
  • Garnish on top with coriander leaves; Serve hot with tea and enjoy!!
