Cheesy Beet Balls

 Anything with cheese is always welcome in my table😍; i think your's too😊. Cheese beet balls are a lovely addition to your ifthar table!! It's eye catching, yummilicious and a great veggie treat.Try this simple and easy recipe at your home and please your crowd.
  1. Beetroot thinly grated-1 cup
  2. Boiled mashed potato-1 cup
  3. Oil-1 tbsp
  4. Onion-1 small (or half of an onion)
  5. Thinly chopped ginger-2 tsp
  6. Chopped coriander leaves-1 tbsp
  7. Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
  8. Chilly powder-1/2 tsp
  9. Pepper powder- 1/2 tsp
  10. Coriander powder- 1/2 tsp
  11. Garam masala powder- 1/4 tsp
  12. Salt-to taste
  13. Mozzarella cheese grated- 3/4 cup
  14. Chilly flakes-1 tsp
  15. Bread crumbs- 1/2 cup
  16. Corn flour-2 tbsp
  17. Oil-for deep frying
  • Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pan; add thinly chopped ginger and onion; saute for two minutes.
  • Add grated beetroot and all the powders; saute for about 5 minutes or until the color of beetroot changes and get cooked.
  • Add well mashed potato and coriander leaves chopped.
  • Mix well without seeing any white part(potato lumps) in it and the mixture gets dried well. (the mixture should not be mushy; but dried well).
  • Switch off the flame and allow the mixture to cool completely.
  • After that divide them in to lemon sized balls.
  • Mix grated mozzarella with chilly flake and make equal number of tiny balls out of it (half the size of beet ball).
  • Take a beet ball in your palm; flatten it.
  • Place the cheese ball in center and fold it again like a ball by completely covering the cheese ball.
  • Prepare all the balls like this.
  • In a bowl mix cornflour with 1/4 cup (or little more) water and mix well.
  • Another wide bowl; took bread crumbs.
  • Dip the prepared beet ball in corn flour mix with one hand and next dip it in the bread crumbs with another hand and coat well.
  • Once again dip the ball in cornflour batter and then bread crumbs (double coating; then only the balls get fully covered with the crumbs)
  • Make all the balls like this.
  • Deep fry them in hot oil on medium flame until nice golden brown in color (fry carefully without over crowding and gently flipping to the other side).
  • Drain in to paper towels and serve hot in side with mayonnaise and ketchup.

Note: You must serve hot or warm for the flowing cheese. inside. The cheese gets harden by time.
