Penne Pasata in Red Sauce
I love making pasta often at home. This delicious penne pasta in red sauce is an easy treat and eye catching. Here is the recipe for creamy red sauce pasta from Italian cuisine with Indian twist. Add the Kashmiri chilly powder according to your taste or use less quantity normal chilly powder or paprika.
Ingredients:
- Penne pasta- 100 gms
- Tomato -2 large
- Olive oil-2 tbsp
- Thinly chopped garlic-1 tbsp
- Tomato sauce-2 tbsp
- Kashmiri chilly powder-1 tbsp
- Vinegar- 1/4 tsp (optional for tanginess)
- Hot chilly sauce-1 tbsp
- Mixed herbs-1 tsp
- Salt-to taste
- Grated cheese-to garnish
- Cook tomatoes in boiling water for 5 minutes. Add it in to cold water and rest for another 5 minutes. Peel its skin and blend the tomatoes in a blender until pureed. keep aside.
- Cook pasta in boiling water by adding salt for about 7-8 minutes until cooked. Drain it and keep aside.
- Heat olive oil in a pan; add chopped garlic and saute until fragrant.
- Add Pureed tomato and cooks medium flame until it thickens.
- Then add kashmiri chilly powder; mix well.
- Add chilly sauce, tomato sauce and vinegar.
- Add cooked pasta, mixed herbs and salt.
- Switch off the flame and add in to serving bowl.
- Garnish on top with grated cheese and basil leaves.
- Serve hot and enjoy!!!
