Jackfruit Stir Fry


Jack fruit stir fry is an easy and quick side dish for rice. This can be made with raw jack-fruits; but slightly tends ripen tastes the most. You can also add jack fruit seeds in to it; but that need to cook first and mix it with stir fry. The cooking time slightly varies according to the type of jack fruits used. Chop the jack fruit in to medium-small cubes and just season it.
Ingredients:
  1. Chopped Jack fruits-4 cup
  2. Oil-1 tbsp
  3. Mustard seeds- 1 tsp
  4. Shallots (small onion) crushed-2 tbsp
  5. Garlic crushed-1 tbsp
  6. Dry red chilly crushed-1 tbsp
  7. Salt-to taste
  8. Water-3 tbsp (almost)
Preparation:
  • Heat oil in a pressure cooker; splutter mustard seeds.
  • Add shallots, garlic, dry red chilly and saute for few minutes until nicely sauted.
  • Add jack fruit chopped, salt and water. mix well.(Add only little water to avoid sticking the jack fruits in the pan..less than 1/4 cup).
  • Pressure cooks it for one whistle on medium flame.
  • Open the lid after cools down.
  • Give a nice mix and serve in side with steamed rice!!!
Note: You can cook this in an open pot. Then you can avoid the fear of adding water;Cover cooks the pan; Add water little by little often, and stir until done.
