Kerala Style Pepper Duck Roast



Duck meat is suitable for making in any festive occasions.Here is a delicious Kerala style spicy duck roast recipe which is a nice combo with Kerala porotta. Try it and enjoy with your family. 

Ingredients For Marination:
  1. Duck- 1 kg
  2. Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
  3. Pepper powder-1 tbsp
  4. Coriander powder-1 tbsp
  5. Lemon juice-1 tbsp
  6. Garam masala powder- 1/2 tsp
  7. Chilly powder- 1/2 tsp
  8. Cumin powder- 1/2 tsp
  9. Salt-to taste
Other Ingredients:
  1. Oil-2 tbsp
  2. Crushed pepper-1 tsp
  3. Garam masala powder- 1/2 tsp
  4. Pepper powder-1 tsp
  5. Thinly chopped onion-2 
  6. Ginger garlic crushed-1 tbsp
  7. Green chilly slit-2 no's
  8. Thick curd-2 tbsp
  9. Tomato- 1 large (cut in to 4 pieces)
  10. Salt-to taste
  11. Curry leaves-2 spring
Preparation:
  • Marinate the duck pieces with ingredients under marination and let it rest for about 2-4 hours in fridge.
  • After that pressure cooks it few whistles (5-6) until nicely cooked (add enough water for pressure cooking).
  • Open the lid after releases the pressure by itself and dry any excess water content in it by open heating. Keep  aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan; when it is hot add crushed pepper and garam masala powder.
  • Add chopped onions in to and saute until they turn transparent.
  • Add crushed ginger garlic and green chilly. Saute for another two minutes.
  • Add cooked duck pieces,curd, salt, curry leaves and tomato pieces in to it. Mix well and cook for another 10 minutes.
  • Serve hot with Roti or rice.
