Vegetable Shami Kabab


Shami kababs are delicious; juicy and tender bites. It is usually prepared with minced meat. Here is an amazing shami kabab recipe for vegans using chick pea. You can use black chick pea or white chana for making this(or both). And use this kababs for making your favorite sandwich, wraps or burger.
Ingredients:
  1. Chana / White chick pea-1 cup
  2. Boiled Potato-1 large
  3. Onion-1 medium
  4. Ginger thinly chopped-1 tbsp
  5. Green chilly chopped-1 tsp
  6. Coriander leaves chopped-1 tbsp
  7. Mint leaves chopped-1 tbsp
  8. Chilly powder-1 tsp
  9. Salt-to taste
  10. Garam masala powder- 1/2 tsp
  11. Pepper powder- 1/2 tsp
  12. Lemon juice- 1/2 tsp
  13. Besan flour- 3 tbsp
  14. Oil-for shallow frying
Preparation:
  • Soak chana in water for overnight.
  • Next day; pressure cooks it with enough water and salt until tender (for  few whistles).
  • Drain it if there is any excess water.
  • Now; mash it coarsely using a masher or by blender. (Don' mash well; needs tiny chunks to bite).
  • Mix it with mashed boiled potato, and all other ingredients except oil.
  • Take small portions from it and make patties out of it (of medium thickness).
  • Shallow fry it in the hot oil until both sides are golden and cooked (on medium flame).
  • Drain in to paper towels and serve hot.
Note:
Unlike meat kabab's these are very tender; so be careful while making patties and flip in to the other side to avoid breaking up the patties.
