Masala Biscuit / Spicy Cookies


An easy savory, crispy and delicious bites which makes a great accompaniment with your tea!!

Ingredients:

  1. All purpose flour- 1 1/2 cup
  2. Butter / Ghee softened (room temp)- 1/2 cup
  3. Baking powder- 3/4 tsp
  4. Salt- to taste (almost 3/4 tsp)
  5. Powdered Sugar-2 tsp
  6. Garam masala powder- 1/4 tsp
  7. Pepper powder- 1/2 tsp
  8. Thinly chopped curry leaves- 1/2 tsp
  9. Thinly chopped coriander leaves- 1/2 tsp
  10. Thinly chopped green chilly- 1/2 tsp
  11. Crushed ginger garlic paste- 1/2 tsp
  12. Black sesame seeds- 1/4 tsp
  13. Thick Curd-1 tbsp (or little less)
  14. Oil-1 tbsp
Preparation:
  • In a large bowl mix the dry ingredients. Flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, garam masala and pepper powder.
  • Add butter in to it and mix well like bread crumbs.
  • Then add chopped curry leaves, coriander leaves, green chilly, ginger garlic crushed and sesame seeds; mix well by crumbling it.
  • Add curd little by little to make a hard dough consistency.
  • Knead it well and keep the cookie tray ready by greasing it.
  • Make small portions from the dough and shape it like a cookie. (Don't make too thick, then the cookie will be chewy texture, not crisp... instead make thin cookies).
  • Make all the cookies and arrange it on the tray.
  • Brush little oil on top of each cookie.
  • Bake it in a pre-heated oven at 180 degree (350 F) for about 20 minutes or top gets nicely colored.
