Kadai Prawns

Kadai prawns is a finger licking spicy Indian prawns curry. Here is an easy and spicy kadai prawns recipe preparation:
  1. Prawns- ½ kg
  2. Dry red chilly- 7 nos
  3. Oil-2 tbsp
  4. Cumin seeds- ¼ tsp
  5. Onion thinly sliced-1 large
  6. Ginger garlic minced-1 tbsp
  7. Green chilly-2 nos
  8. Tomato-2  nos
  9. Turmeric powder- ½ tsp
  10. Cumin powder- ¼ tsp
  11. Garam  masala powder- ½ tsp
  12. Pepper powder- ¼ tsp
  13. Coriander leaves chopped-4 tbsp
  14. Salt-to taste
  • Soak dry red chillies in warm water for 20 minutes.
  • Blend it along with a tomato in to a smooth puree. Keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan; splutter cumin seeds.
  • Add chopped onions and sauté until brown in color.
  • Add ginger garlic minced and green chilly.
  • Add all the powders one by one in low flame by mixing well.
  • Add the chopped remaining one tomato along with the blended puree.
  • Sauté for a minute and add cleaned prawns and salt.
  • Add half of coriander leaves chopped and 1 ½ cups of water in to it.
  • Cover cooks it for few minutes ( about 20 minutes for big prawns) until the prawns are cooked well and oil floats on top.
  • Switch off the flame when curry thickens and add remaining coriander leves.
  • Mix well and switch off the flame.
  • Serve it hot with steamed rice or the choice of your roti.
