Vermicelli Sabudana Kheer

Vermicelli Sabudana Kheer is a delicious Indian dessert that can be prepared easily and served in most of the special occasions. It does not need any thickening ingredient or much time to cook.
  1. Vermicelli-1 cup
  2. Sabudhana / Sago- ¼ cup
  3. Sugar- ½ cup (or more)
  4. Milk-3 cups
  5. Cardamom powder- ¼ tsp
  6. Ghee/ Butter- 2 tbsp
  7. Cashew and raisins- to decorate
  • Wash and soak sabudana in water for an hour.
  • Heat a pan; by adding a table spoon of ghee.
  • Roast the vermicelli for few minutes in low flame until its color starts changing.
  • Boil water in a large pan; when it boils add drained sabudana and cook it for about 5 minutes until transparent and doubles it shape.
  • Drain it and keep aside.
  • Boil milk in a wide pan.
  • When it boils add sugar and mix well.
  • Add vermicelli and cooked sabudana
  • Mix well and cook for few minutes until vermicelli gets cooked and kheer starts thickening.
  • Sprinkle cardamom powder and switch off the flame.
  • Heat a tablespoon of ghee and roast cashew nuts and raisins.
  • Add it in to the kheer and serve hot.
