Vegetable Tikka Masala

Vegetable tikka masala is a great curry that can be served along with steamed rice, roti or any Indian flat bread.  Choose your choice of vegetables for making this curry.  Tomato puree and yogurt gives richness and yummy taste for the curry.Check here for the homemade tomato puree recipe: Tomato puree
  1. Vegetables chopped- 2 cups (onion, carrot, green beans, cauliflower. Potato and capsicum)
  2. Oil-1tbsp
  3. Butter melted-1tbsp
  4. Ginger garlic paste- 1tbsp
  5. Turmeric powder- ½ tsp
  6. Coriander powder-1 tsp
  7. Chilly powder-1 tsp
  8. Chat masala- ½ tsp
  9. Pepper powder- ½ tsp
  10. Garam masala powder- ½ tsp
  11. Salt-to taste
  12. Tomato puree- 11/4 cup 
  13. Fresh thick yoghurt- ¼ cup
  • Heat oil and butter in a kadai.
  • Add onions chopped. Sauté for a minute.
  • Add ginger garlic paste. Sauté until raw smell goes off.
  • Add all the powders one by one after mixing well in each addition.
  • Add  potato pieces.
  • Add ¼ cup of water and cover cooks it for 5 minutes.
  • Now add all the other vegetables.
  • Cover cooks it for another 8-9 minutes (stir occasionally).
  • Add tomato puree and thick yoghurt.
  • Mix well in low flame for a minute and switch off the flame.
