Chikoo / Sapota Pudding

Sapodilla, also known as sapota or chikoo is a delicious tropical fruit. The fruit itself has a dessert like flavor and loads with dietary fibers and nutrients. It has amazing health benefits. Lots of desserts can make using chikoo. Chikoo pudding is such an easy and delicious dessert that can make within few minutes. You must choose correctly ripen chikoos for making pudding.
  1. Chikoo- 6 nos
  2. Milk-500 ml
  3. Sweetened condensed milk- 1 tin
  4. China grass- 5 gram
  5. Vanilla essence- few drops.
  6. Cocoa powder- to decorate (optional)
  • Soak chopped china grass pieces in water for 15 minutes.
  • Boil ½ cup of water in a pan, add drained china grass and stir well until diluted well without any lumps.
  • Mean while in another pan; Boil milk, add condensed milk in to it and stir well.
  • Add vanilla drops in to it and mix well.
  • When both pan’s temperature are equal add boiled milk slowly in to melted china grass ; stir well for a minute and switch off the flame (don’t overcook).
  • Peel the skin of chikoo and discard its seeds.
  • Mash it in a blender in to a smooth puree without adding water.
  • Add it in to the pudding mix and mix well.
  • After cools down, refrigerate for 5 hours to set.
  • Serve chill with dusting cocoa powder on top.
