Mawa Peda

Milk peda is a very famous Indian sweet especially made in the occasions of Diwali. Its quick easy to make and a wonderful treat for all those who have a sweet tooth. Usually peda is cooked with full fat milk. But here mawa (milk solids) is used for making easy and instant peda. 

  1. Mawa- 1 cup
  2. Milk- ¼ cup
  3. Sugar- ¼ cup
  4. Ghee- 1 ½ tbsp
  5. Cardamom powder-  ¼ tsp
  6. Pistachios- to decorate (optional)
  • Heat ghee in a non-stick pan; add crumbled mawa and sauté in low flame for 3-4 minutes (stir continuously).
  • Add sugar and milk in to the pan.
  • Keep stirring quickly in low flame.
  • Add cardamom powder and mix well.
  • It thickens soon and stats to leave the sides of the pan.
  • Switch off the flame and allow cooling for few minutes.
  • Grease your hands with ghee and make small squares or round shapes out of it.
