Palak Paneer Curry

Palak paneer is one of the popular North Indian paneer recipe that goes well with any type of roti, parathas and rice. It’s very healthy combination and perfect for kids.  Here is the simple recipe preparation
Ingredients:
  1. Palak – a bunch
  2. Paneer cubes- ½ cup
  3. Green chilly- 1
  4. Ginger chopped- 1 small inch piece
  5. Oil-2tbsp
  6. Cumin seeds- ½ tsp
  7. Onion-1
  8. Tomato-1
  9. Garlic chopped-1tbsp
  10. Turmeric powder- ½ tsp
  11. Chilly powder- ½ tsp
  12. Garam masala- ¼ tsp
  13. Hing- a pinch
  14. Salt-to taste
  15. Fresh cream-2tbsp
  16. Water
Preparation: 
  • heat a teaspoon of oil in a no-stick pan and roast paneer cubes for few minutes until both sides are golden in color. keep it aside
  • Wash and rinse palak over cold running water strain it and cut in to medium sized pieces.
  • Add it in to 2 cups of boiling water and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Strain the water and put the palak in a blender along with 1 green chilly and a small ginger piece.
  • Make a smooth puree without adding water.
  • Keep it aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan, splutter cumin seeds and add onion chopped.
  • Sauté until transparent.
  • Add garlic and sauté until the raw smell goes off.
  • Add all the powders one by one after mixing well in each addition.
  • Add chopped tomato pieces and sauté until all the tomato pieces  get mashed well.
  • Add palak puree in to it along with ¼ cup of hot water.
  • Cook for about 6 minutes until the curry thickens.
  • Add roasted paneer cubes and fresh cream.
  • Mix well. Check salt and switch off the flame.
  • Serve hot with the choice of your roti !!!
