Missi Roti

Missi roti is a traditional Punjabi roti recipe. This crisp and mildly spiced flatbread is a nice combination with raitha, pickle and some dal curry. Here is the simple recipe preparation
Ingredients:
  1. Wheat flour-2cups
  2. Besan flour- 1cup
  3. Turmeric powder- ½ tsp
  4. Chilly powder- ½ tsp
  5. Garam masala powder- /2 tsp
  6. Salt-to taste
  7. Thinly chopped onion-1
  8. Thinly chopped kasoori methi- ¼  cup
  9. Ghee
Preparation:
  • Mix all the ingredients except ghee in a large bowl.
  • Add water little by little and make smooth dough.
  • Cover it with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  • After that divide the dough in to equal sized balls.
  • Roll it in to thin circles on a rolling pin aby spreading little flour.
  • Heat a tawa and cook roti’s until both sides are cooked.
  • Apply little ghee on top of each roti after cooking.
  • Serve soon with the choice of your curry or pickle.
Note:
You can avoid kasoori methi used here and add coriander leaves chopped instead.
