Doughnut Balls

Dough nut balls are western favorite snack recipe. It is an easy and quick way to make only the crunchy holes perfect for dipping in any syrup. Serve it with sugar syrup, caramel syrup, whip cream or any of your favorite toppings. Check here for other glazings

  1. All purpose flour -1cup
  2. Egg- 1
  3. Milk- ½ cup
  4. Sugar- 1 tbsp
  5. Baking powder-1 tbsp
  6. Salt- a pinch
  7. yellow food color-a pinch (optional)
  8. Butter melted- 2tbsp
  9. Oil-for deep frying
  • In a bowl whisk egg and milk together.
  • In a bowl mix flour, baking powder,  salt and sugar.
  • Stir milk mixture in to above dry ingredients followed by melted butter.
  • Mix thoroughly; the dough will be in a bit watery consistency.
  • Take a teaspoon of batter and scoop dough in to hot oil carefully (the roundness of the doughnut holes depends on how clean of a scoop of batter you drop in to oil; dip spoon in water after each scoop to get perfect balls.).
  • Don’t over crowd the batter in to pan.
  • Fry in low flame until golden brown in color.
  • Glaze theses fried balls with sugar syrup or any of your favorite glazing.
For the sugar syrup:
  1. Sugar-2cup
  2. Water-2cup
  3. Saffron-few
  4. Lemon juice-1bsp
  • Heat all these in a pan and boil for about 15 minutes or until it reaches the syrup consistency.
  • Add the dumplings in to syrup and soak for 20 minutes and serve.
