Wheat Kulcha Without Yeast



 Everyone loves to eat soft fluffy kulcha for a breakfast or dinner. Kulcha is usually made with all purpose flour and yeast. But here is the recipe of kulcha without using maida and yeast and is replaced by wheat flour and baking powder. It is really healthy and tastes even better.

Ingredients:
  1. Wheat flour- 1 ½ cup + dusting
  2. Baking powder- ½ tsp
  3. Suagr- 1 ½ tsp
  4. Thick curd-3 tsp
  5. Oil-3tsp
  6. Milk-3tbsp
  7. Salt-to taste
  8. Warm water- little (to knead the dough)
  9. Sesame seeds-few
  10. Coriander leaves chopped- few
  11. Butter- 6 tsp

Preparation:
  • In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, sugar and salt.
  • Add curd, oil and milk.
  • Mix well as it is like bread crumbs.
  • Add warm water little by little (as needed) to make a smooth dough.
  • Cover the dough with a damp cloth or cling wrap for 2 hours.
  • After two hours knead the dough again and divide it in to 6 equal bowls.
  • Take one ball and flatten it in to a small circle by dusting little flour on the rolling board.
  • Sprinkle a table spoon of sesame seeds and coriander leaves on top of it.
  • Above that spread some flour and roll it in to kulcha shapes having little thickness more than chapathi.
  • Heat tawa in to a medium flame; when it is hot place the kulcha on top of it in such a way that the coriander sprinkled side stays on top of the tawa.
  • Cook until bubbles starts coming and the bottom gets brown in color.
  • When the bubbles appearing, turn kulcha in to the other side and cook for another few seconds until cooked.
  • Take it in to serving bowl and apply a teaspoon of butter on top of it.
  • Repeat the process for remaining balls.
  • Serve hot with the curry of your choice.
  • Note: By replacing the wheat flour with all purpose flour and baking powder with 1tsp of yeast, then you will get the normal plain kulcha. Or use half quantity of maida and half quantity of wheat flour.Coriander leaves and sesame seeds (black or white) is used here to enhance the taste, if you dont want, you can skip it.
