Tawa Pulavu

 Tawa Pulavu is a perfect dinner choice with the left over lunch. The mixed vegetables along with some spice powders makes the rice really delicious and rich in taste. It’s quick easy to prepare and choose the veggies according to your taste.

  1. Cooked basmati rice (long rice)-2 cup
  2. Finely chopped onion-1
  3. Ginger garlic paste-1 tbsp
  4. Finely chopped green chilly-1
  5. Lemon juice-1 tbsp
  6. Chopped vegetables-1 ½ cup (carrots, fresh green peas, cabbage, capsicum, beans)
  7. Oil-3 tsp
  8. Cumin seeds- 1 tsp
  9. Turmeric powder- ½ tsp
  10. Chilly powder- 1 tsp
  11. Coriander powder-1 tsp
  12. Chat masala / pav bhaji masala- ½ tsp
  13. Salt-to taste
  14. Coriander leaves-few
  • Heat oil in a pan, splutter cumin seeds.
  • Add onion and saute till transparent.
  • Add ginger garlic paste and green chilly.
  • Saute until raw smell goes off.
  • Add all the powders one by one in a low flame after mixing each addition.
  • Add the chopped vegetables and sprinkle little water on top of it (almost 2 tsp).
  • Cook covered in a low flame for 5-10 minutes until the vegetables are cooked.
  • After that add, lemon juice and mix well.
  • Add cooked rice in to it and mix well  and slow cook for 5-6 minutes till all the spices completely coated with the rice.
  •  Check salt and switch off the flame.
  • Sprinkle coriander leaves on top and serve hot with raitha and pickle.
