Homemade Rasam Powder

Rasam powder is an aromatic spicy ground spices mixture used for preparing various South Indian soups, Rasam and curries.It is simple easy to make homemade rasam powder at home within few minutes.
Ingredients:
  1. Coriander seeds- ¾ cup
  2. Toor dal- ¼ cup
  3. Chana dal- ¼ cup
  4. Hing- 1 small piece
  5. Blak pepper cones-3tbsp
  6. Cumin seeds-3tbsp
  7. Dry red chilly- 15 nos (or more)
Preparation:
  • In heavy bottom pan, dry roast red chillies, chana dal and toor dal  until its colour strats to change in a low flame.
  • Add it in to plate And keep it aside.
  • Then dry roast coriander seeds and roast until nice aroma comes out. Add it in the plate and keep aside.
  • Add pepper corns in to th tawa and allow it in to splutter.
  • Also dry roast cumin seeds separately until slightly color changed and aroma comes out.
  • Mix it with all other ingredients and allow to cools down completely.
  • Grind it in to a semi fine powder in a dry blender.
  • Store it in a dry clean airtight container and use whenever the recipe calls for rasam.
