Crab Masala / Crab Roast

Fresh fish cooked as a curry or fry is a main menu for our meal. Crab masala is  a perfect star food among the sea food. Even though the cleaning process is little hard, its fun to eat the crab along with its crunchiness.
  1. Crab-2 (big fresh crab)
  2. Onion-2nos
  3. Tomato-1
  4. Turmeric powder-1/2tsp
  5. Chilly powder-1/2tsp
  6. Oil-2tbsp
  7. Curry leaves-2string
  8. Crushed ginger-1tbsp
  9. Crushed garlic-1tbsp
  10. Crushed green chilly-1tbsp
  11. Shallots chopped-1/4cup
  12. Pepper powder-1/2tsp
  13. Tamarind-1lemon size
  14. Salt-to taste
  15. Coriander leaves-few
  • Clean the raw crabs, cut each body in to two pieces, detach the large claws and crack them to allow flavors to penetrate.
  • In a pan; heat a tablespoon of oil.
  • Add crushed ginger, garlic, green chilly and curry leaves.
  • Saute until golden in color.
  • Add onion and shallots chopped and saute until transparent.
  • add all the powders one by one in a low flame and mix well.
  • add tomato in to it ans saute until mashed well.
  • Add tamarind juice, crab and salt in to it.
  • Cover cook for for 15-20 minutes or until the crabs gets cooked well and gravy becomes thick.
  • Decorate with coriander leaves on top.
