Bachelor Chicken Curry
As it's name implies Bachelor chicken curry is a lazy easy
chicken curry, yet satisfying curry. Bachelors are not much familiar with all type
of masala and they can’t wait much time for a curry. This curry used only
few ingredients and masala and results a tasty chicken curry.
Ingredients:
- Chicken – ½ kg
- Oil-4 tbsp
- Onion- 2nos
- Tomato-1 big
- Ginger garlic paste-1tbsp
- Green chilly-1
- Turmeric powder- ½ tsp
- Chilly powder-2 tsp
- Chicken masala-2tsp
- Curry leaves-2 string(optional)
- Heat oil in a kadai (or pressure cooker) and add onions finely chopped.
- Sauté until golden brown in color.
- Add ginger garlic paste and green chilly.
- Sauté for a minute and add turmeric powder, chilly powder and chicken masala one by one and mix well after each addition in a low flame.
- Add chopped tomato in to it and sauté for few minutes until the tomato pieces are mashed well.
- Add chicken pieces, salt and curry leaves in to it.
- Sauté for 5 minutes.
- Add ¼ cup of hot water in to it and pressure cooks for 3 whistles (or open cook it for 20-25 minutes until chicken pieces are cooked well).
- Open the lid of cooker just before serving the curry.
- Note: Add less than a pinch of red food color at the time of adding hot water in order to get a restaurant style chicken curry.
