Bachelor Chicken Curry

As it's name implies Bachelor chicken curry is a lazy easy chicken curry, yet satisfying curry. Bachelors are not much familiar with all type of masala and they can’t wait much time for a curry. This curry used only few ingredients and masala and results a tasty chicken curry.

Ingredients:
  1. Chicken – ½ kg
  2. Oil-4 tbsp
  3. Onion- 2nos
  4. Tomato-1 big
  5. Ginger garlic paste-1tbsp
  6. Green chilly-1
  7. Turmeric powder- ½ tsp
  8. Chilly powder-2 tsp
  9. Chicken masala-2tsp
  10. Curry leaves-2 string(optional)
Preparation:
  • Heat oil in a kadai (or pressure cooker) and add onions finely chopped.
  • Sauté until golden brown in color.
  • Add ginger garlic paste and green chilly.
  • Sauté for a minute and add turmeric powder, chilly powder and chicken masala one by one and mix well after each addition in a low flame.
  • Add chopped tomato in to it and sauté for few minutes until the tomato pieces are mashed well.
  • Add chicken pieces, salt and curry leaves in to it.
  • Sauté for 5 minutes.
  • Add ¼ cup of hot water in to it and pressure cooks for 3 whistles (or open cook it for 20-25 minutes until chicken pieces are cooked well).
  • Open the lid of cooker just before serving the curry.
  • Note: Add less than a pinch of red food color at the time of adding hot water in order to get a restaurant style chicken curry.
