Wheat Dosa

Wheat dosa is a quick and healthy breakfast choice. Here I use only wheat flour to make the dosa. You can add rice powder to get more crispiness for the dosa. butter milk gives a nice aroma and taste to the dosa.Instead of butter milk, milk or water itself can be used.

  1. Wheat flour-1cup
  2. cumin seeds-1tsp
  3. salt-to taste
  4. butter milk/ milk/water-enough to get the dosa batter consistency
  5. oil
  • Mix wheat flour. cumin seeds.
  • Add enough salt and butter milk to get the dosa batter consistency.
  • Mix well the batter without foaming any lumps.
  • The batter should not be too thick or thin.
  • In a non-stick dosa pan add a teaspoon of oil.
  • The flame should be high at the time of pouring batter, then only you will get the correct stiff dosa.
  • Pour a ladle full of batter in to the pan and give a quick circling.(make the circling as in quick movements; other wise the dosa shape gets damaged).
  • The circling area contains holes and hence the dosa gets stiffness.
  • Reduce the flame and when the bottom gets golden in color gently fold in to the other side.
  • Cook for an another minute and put it in to the serving plate.
  • At the time of making next dosa ; remember to add oil and maximize the flame.
  • Repeat the process for remaining batter.
  • Serve hot with chutney or curry.
