Idli chaat

 Idli chaat recipe is an easy and tasty way to utilize the left over idlis and becomes an excellent snack then.

  1. chopped idlis-2cup
  2. oil-2tbsp
  3. curry leves-2string
  4. mustard seeds- 1/2tsp
  5. roasted pea nuts-1tbsp
  6. roasted chana dal-1tbsp
  7. chopped onion-1
  8. chopped carrots-2tbsp
  9. fresh green pea-2tbsp
  10. turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
  11. coriander powder- 1/2 tsp
  12. chaat masala- 1/2 tsp
  13. chilly powder- 1/2 tsp
  14. sev-2tbsp(Or use any crisp like potato fries, corn flakes)
  15. salt-to taste
  • Preparation:
  • Heat oil in a non-stick pan.
  • Splutter mustard seeds followed by chana daal, pea nut and curry leaves.
  • Add half of the onion and saute until transparent.
  • Add all the powders one by one by mixing well.
  • Add idli pieces along with carotts and green peas.
  • Cook for 7-8 minutes.
  • Switch off the flame and sprinkle remaining onion and sev on top.
  • Serve hot and enjoy.
