Tandoori Chicken

 Tandoori chicken is a popular chicken recipe¸ marinated in a mixture of yoghurt and spices. The yoghurt acts as a tenderizer and the chicken becomes so juicy and yummy. These tasty tandoori chickens are served along with slices of lemon, masala onions and mint chutney.


Ingredients:
  1. Chicken -1/2 kg (cut in to two parts)
  2. Yoghurt- ¼ cup
  3. Lemon juice-1tsp
  4. Mint leaves-2tbsp
  5. Green chilly-1
  6. Salt-to taste
  7. Red food colour- a pinch
  8. Garlic-2cloves
  9. Ginger-1small piece
  10. Pepper powder- ½ tsp
Preparation:
  • Clean and wash the chicken properly.
  • Drain it well and dry it with a kitchen towel; make some slits on the chicken with a knife.
  • In a food processor blend all the ingredients except color.
  • Pour the blended ingredients in a bowl and mix with food color.
  • Add the chicken pieces in to it and rub well.
  • Keep it on fridge for overnight.
  • Preheat the oven in to 180c.
  • Lightly oil the baking pan / grill.
  • Cook the chicken for about 40-45 minutes.
  • Brush it with oil at every 15 minutes of intervals.
  • Garnish it with lemon pieces and onion wedges.
  • Serve hot and squeeze lemon juice on top.
