Chola bhature is the combination of bhatura with chick pea’s curry. Bhatura is a pan fried puffed bread. All of them love this yummy combination. Here is the recipe of bhatura.

  1. Flour-2cups (all purpose flour)
  2. Yoghurt-3tbsp
  3. Semolina-1tbsp
  4. Yeast-1tsp
  5. Sugar-1tsp
  6. Salt-to taste
  7. Oil-2tsp, also for frying
  8. Lukewarm water / warm milk-to knead the dough
  • Dissolve yeast and sugar with little warm water; keep it for 10 minutes to become frothy.
  • Mix the flour with semolina, salt, yoghurt, oil and yeast mix.
  • Add enough warm water and knead well make smooth dough.
  • Cover the dough and keep it in a warm place for 4 hours.
  • After that divide the dough in to small balls and using a rolling pin by spreading little flour roll it in to desired shapes or circle (or make a circle shape and cut it in to two parts using a knife)
  • Make little thicker circles than that of poori.
  • Deep fry it in the hot oil (at the time of adding bhatura to oil; the oil must be hot; then reduce in to low flame and allow to puff and cook until both sides are golden in color.).
  • Take it out in to paper towels.
  • Serve hot with chana masala.
