Mutton Korma

Mutton korma is a rich and creamy mutton curry having less spice. It is a wonderful combination with ghee rice and appam. It also goes well with any types of bread and rice.
  1. Mutton-1/2kg
  2. Oil-1tbsp
  3. Fennel seeds-1/2tsp
  4. Shallots/small onion-1cup
  5. Tomato-1small
  6. potato-1small
  7. Ginger paste-1tsp
  8. Garlic paste-1tsp
  9. Green chilly-2nos
  10. Turmeric powder-1/2tsp
  11. Coriander powder-1tsp
  12. Pepper powder-1tsp
  13. Garam masala-1/2tsp
  14. Salt-to taste
  15. Thick coconut milk-1cup
  16. Thin coconut milk-1/2cup
  17. Coriander leaves-few
  • Heat oil in pan, splutter fennel seeds.
  • Add chopped shallots and sauté until they become transparent.
  • Add ginger, garlic, green chilly; sauté until raw smell goes off.
  • Put the flame to low and add all the powders one by one in order and mix well.
  • Add tomato chopped and sauté until completely mashed up.
  • Add mutton cubed pieces in to it and thin coconut milk.
  • Pressure cooks it (or cook) until the mutton pieces are 3/4th cooked.
  • Add the potato pieces and thick coconut milk in to it and cook for another 20minutes.
  • Switch off the flame and sprinkle coriander leaves on top.
