Mushroom Pepper Roast

Mushroom pepper roast is a simple mushroom recipe which tastes great and can serve with any type of rice roti or naan.

  1. Mushroom-250gm
  2. Oil-2tbsp
  3. Cumin seeds- ¼ tsp
  4. Shallots chopped-1/2 cup
  5. Tomato-1
  6. Green chilly-1
  7. Ginger, garlic crushed-2tsp
  8. Whole black pepper-10 nos
  9. Garama masala- ½ tsp
  10. Salt-to taste
  11. Soya sauce-1tbsp
  12. Tomato ketchup-2tbsp 
  13. Coriander leaves-few
  • Dry roast the pepper corns and ground it in to a fine powder.
  • Clean mushrooms and wipe it well with a kitchen towel.
  • Cut it in to chunks.
  • In a pan add a tbsp of oil and stir fry the mushroom with little salt and half of the pepper powder.
  • Sauté for 5 minutes until the juice of the mushrooms get reduced and it slightly changes the colour.
  • In a heated pan add 1tbsp oil and splutter cumin seeds.
  • Add shallots, green chilly,ginger and garlic.
  • Sauté well and add tomato pieces.
  • When the tomatoes get cooked completely add garam masala, pepper powder and salt.
  • Add ketchup and soya sauce and fried mushrooms.
  • Mix gently and sauté for another 5 minutes.
  • Switch off the flame and sprinkle coriander leaves on top.
