Crispy French Fries
Making crispy French fries seems to be very easy task but, we have to take care of few things to get the crispiness and taste. Choose the potatoes which are seem to be strong. Fry the French fries just before you want to serve. Double frying (fry for 1 minute and drain after cools down completely, fry again until golden in color) also helps to get a crispy exterior for French fries.
Ingredients:
- Potato-2
- Salt-to taste
- Oil-for deep frying
- Corn flour-2tsp
- Peel the potatoes and soak in water.
- Cut it in to one centimeter thick slices and finger sized pieces.
- Boil water (enough to dip all the potatoes) with enough salt.
- Add potato pieces in to it and boil for 5 minutes.
- Drain it well and wipe out the extra moisture by a kitchen towel or tissue paper.
- Sprinkle a teaspoon of corn flour in to it and put it in a zip-lock or air tight container.
- Shake well and freeze it for at least 4 hours.
- When required to fry; take it out from the freezer; sprinkle 1 teaspoon of corn flour again and mix well.
- Deep fry directly in medium hot oil until it starts to changes the color in to golden.
- Drain and put it on an absorbent paper.
- Serve hot.
