Bread Vada

Bread vada is a an easy evening snack idea that those who don’t want to eat the bread itself or to utilize the leftover breads as a wonderful snack. Only few ingredients are needed for making this bread vada.

  1. Bread slices-5 pieces
  2. Rice flour- 3tbsp
  3. Hung curd (thick yoghurt)-¼ cup (0r ½ cup according to the consistency of dough that can make vada with your hand).
  4. Onion-1 finely chopped
  5. Green chilly-1 finely chopped
  6. Ginger-1small piece finely chopped
  7. Curry leaves chopped-few
  8. Coriander leaves chopped-few
  9. Salt-to taste
  10. Oil-for deep frying
  • Cut the edges of the bread slices and cut in to small cubes.
  • Mix it with all other ingredients except oil.
  • The mixture should be thick and moist.
  • Grease your palms with little oil and make the shape of vada.
  • Deep fry it in a medium flame until both sides are golden brown and drain it in to paper towels.
  • Drop one vada at a time in to hot oil, do not touch it for a minute; otherwise it will break and absorbs oil.
  • Serve hot with onion chutney or ketchup.
