Crab dry fry

Fresh fish cooked as a curry or fry is a main menu for our meal. Crab dry fry is  a perfect star food among the sea food. Even though the cleaning process is little hard, its fun to eat the crab along with its crunchiness.
For marinating:
  1. Crab-2 (big fresh crab)
  2. Turmeric powder-1/2tsp
  3. Chilly powder-1/2tsp
  4. Salt-to taste
For dry fry:
  1. Oil-2tbsp
  2. Curry leaves-2string
  3. Crushed ginger-1tbsp
  4. Crushed garlic-1tbsp
  5. Crushed green chilly-1tbsp
  6. Shallots chopped-1/4cup
  7. Pepper powder-1/2tsp
  8. Coriander powder-1tsp
  9. Garam masala-1/2tsp
  10. Salt-to taste
  11. Coriander leaves-few
  • Clean the raw crabs, cut each body in to two pieces, detach the large claws and crack them to allow flavours to penetrate.
  • Mix it with the marinating ingredients and pressure cooks it for 3-6whistles (depending on the size of crab) or until the crab is cooked finely.
  • In a pan; heat a tablespoon of oil.
  • Add crushed ginger, garlic, green chilly and curry leaves.
  • Saute until golden in color.
  • Add shallots and saute until transparent.
  • add all the powders one by one in a low flame and mix well.
  • Add the cooked crab in to it.
  • Saute for 15-20 minutes or until the crabs get dark in color and mixed with all thes spices finely.
  • Decorate with coriander leaves on top.
